Your heat pump's efficiency is rated in both Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER) and Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF). Simply put, SEER measures the unit's cooling efficiency and HSPF measures the unit's heating efficiency. In both cases, the higher the number the more efficient the unit.
